SR303 - Lake Pleasant Parkway to I-17

Three contracts for 12 new Freeway bridges in Northwest Phoenix. 496 drilled shafts ranging from 48” to 120” diameter were installed for the new SR303L Freeway project in Phoenix, AZ. The shaft excavations varied from 70 to 115 feet deep, all requiring full length reinforcing steel cages. The installation technique included both wet and dry shaft construction methods with permanent liners to aid in the process. ADOT Class “S” 3,500 p.s.i. concrete was placed in each shaft to complete the installation process.
